Here’s a list of totally Awesome workouts:
1) TAKE A LONG WALK:
Don’t plan too much. Just wear your walking shoes and walk out. Set 20 mins on your alarm and walk in any direction till it buzzes. Then turn around, walk back home! About 40 minutes of workout and you won’t be tired! 🙂
Tip: Walk with your chest out, stomach tucked in.
Plan this one. Compose a list of your pumped up music that’s at least 30mins long. Start with a building number, followed by a smashing track. Do these alternatively. You frisk-walk during slower numbers, run with the pumping ones.
You can even enrol for a marathon!
Tip: Check out for some amazing online playlists here: 8tracks …just search for “workout”.
3) PLAY WITH YOUR KIDS:
This can be fun not just for you but also for the kids! Play frisbee, ball, badminton, skip ropes or just run around wild!
Your kids will adore you for it!
4) LEARN A NEW SPORT:
When was the last time you enrolled to learn something new? Esp. A sport?
Drive out to the nearest sports club & join something – squash, kick-boxing, tennis, basket ball… Anything! Not only will you get in better shape, and make some new neural-connections in your brain but you will also have a new skill to boost about! 😉
Biking is an amazing activity. The first time I rode a bicycle, I felt free like a bird! That feeling of pushing the pedals, racing down the roads, feeling the wind gushing through your hair… Remember?
Get out! Go biking!!
6) JOIN DANCE CLASSES:
Dance is the most fun way to learn discipline along with instilling a sense of expression. It requires you to love your body and take care of it. And next time you go to a party and show your moves, you’ll have plenty of compliments coming your way!
Swimming can well be called a kind of meditation underwater. It relaxes all the muscles & joints in your body while telling your brain to focus on the moment.
It has a natural calming effect on your body and mind. Sleeping at night can never get easier!
8) GO DANCING AT A NIGHT CLUB:
The best group exercise! Skip alcohol, just drown yourself in music and dance, dance, dance! Like no one’s watching! Think about working out in a gym for 60mins & it seems so tiring. Think about 3 hrs of dance at the club, it’s not enough!!!
This could well be your weekly vent-out session… Return home with lots of oxytocin running through your body and well, whatever more you wanna take back home from there! 😀
9) REDO YOUR SPACE:
Change the setting of your home, paint walls & move some furniture! It can be the best weight-lifting session you ever had!
Few important things to keep in mind though:
– Joints should be kept easy. Put no pressure on them,
– Stomach tugged in,
– Back straight,
– Bend your knees to pick something & not your back.
– Shoulder blades pulled in
– Breathe normally!
By the end of this exercise, you will have a new energy not just inside you but also, around you!
Derived from extensive studies of human anatomy by oldest Saints of India, this ages old phenomenon is the best study in the history of health & fitness!
Nothing helps you gain flexibility, wisdom and good body posture like Yoga! It’s meant for everyone. No exception!!
You can be suffering from severe joint pains, cervical, arthritis, any potentially terminal illness- Yoga will only help you. The intensity & style will be moderated for you though.
PS: I had terrible frequent Cervical pains, until I switched to some daily basic yoga. 3 years now & NO cervical pain. 🙂
